hpREM is a social and community service organization that provides opportunities for former coworkers to stay in touch with each other through social gatherings, newsletters, and such functions as the members desire.oard of directors. Despite the name, a member does not have to be a retiree. hp-REM Logo

hpREM began as “Hewlett Packard Retired Employees of Massachusetts” similar to a sister organization in California (hpREC). HP became a Massachusetts employer in 1961 with its purchase of the Sanborn Company, a manufacturer of medical electronic equipment. The medical portion of HP became part of Agilent Technologies in the late 1990s and was subsequently purchased by Philips in 2000.

 

Membership Requirements

A.


hpREM is open to all, retired or not, who have been employed for at least five years by Hewlett Packard, Agilent, Philips, or a related company. Those who do not meet these requirements can become members by vote of the board of directors. Membership applications (PDF format) can be downloaded from the Forms section of News & Information page or can be requested by email (see the Contact our Club page).

B. Members shall pay yearly dues as set by the board of directors.

C. Spouses of deceased members may continue the membership.
